I am told that soil ph changes in relation with the level of humidity of the soil

we(not at all commercial) will tell our agri friends per plant requirement of lime(spray lime). Eg:an pirticular area in ur estate will require around 500gm of spray lime to bring ur Ph to 6.5-7,instead if u apply 5kg of dolomite ,then also ur Ph dosen rise up,this s my experience

as per my knowledge in our coastel area soil pH level will be below 7 and in other parts of karnataka soil pH will above 7 so we are getting good performence with calcium content above netrual pH holders may get good performence with Zypsum it will decrees soil pH. To know your soil pH simply by mixing 0.5kgs of soil with 0.5ltrs water(distilled pH7 with TDS below 100ppm) then dip it with pH paper/meter avialble at laboratery suppliers

very easy to find out, in high school labs also have pH paper almost all clinical labs also have it, you can get help of them also, if soil pH is above 7 apply zypsum and if its below 7 apply calsium content in any form either agri lime or dolomite

Although you are correct, where we shall test our soil? Govt.dept. gives only xerox papers as soil report-everyone gets the same report.Private firms charge exorbitantly.

yes sir. all private firms and govt dept wat they do s an emphirical method ... they have a graph og soil pH v/s quantity of lime per acre which is not at all effective and true.... eg for soil pH 5.5 they give so and so tons per acre is it??? its actually not like tat different soils requre different quantity of lime to rise its pH from 5.5 to 7. this is my persanol experience.....
